Greetings, valiant people of God!

I’m so excited to be part of this week’s featured contest. Last week was quite hectic for me because of my trip to Jos for our national conference, so I couldn’t fully participate.

Today, I will be sharing my opinion about myself and also people’s opinions about me.

My opinion of myself is always genuine because I know who I am, the things I do, and what I like about myself. This means I know myself better than people see me. I understand my temperament from beginning to end.

However, people’s opinions about me often differ from mine. There was a time my president told me that I am sanguine, but I argued with him. I explained that it was the environment, the people around me, and the leadership exposure that made me behave like a sanguine, even though it is not my primary temperament. I told him that I know myself better and that my dominant temperament is melancholic, followed by sanguine, then choleric, and lastly phlegmatic. However, two people shared the same opinion that sanguine is my major temperament. I simply left them with their opinions and moved on.

There was also a time I had challenges with a friend because I didn’t know how to build relationships properly. At that point, he was right, I lacked relationship-building skills. I accepted this and decided to work on myself. Over the years, I have grown tremendously and now maintain good relationships with people all over the world, without complaints about my negative traits. This shows that I have improved in that area, which is a good thing.

Another opinion people have about me, which I agree with, is that I am caring. From home, I can truly testify that I am very caring and homely, both to myself and to others. I did not argue about this. Life teaches us that our self-perception can be genuine, but the way others see us may differ. There are things we think we know about ourselves, but not completely until someone points them out. However, God knows everything from beginning to end. Do we truly know everything about ourselves? Not really but God does.

Therefore, people’s opinions about me may be either negative or positive.

In all, love yourself, improve on yourself which is very important, possess a godly character, stay genuine, and be who you are. Don't fake yourself for people to like. If you are lousy, that's it, if you are calm, that's it.
