Buen día, hoy les presento mi reciente retrato titulado: "Daberat" Daberat es el nombre artístico de mi amiga Dayana Reyes , ex alumna fiestera de mi antiguo taller de Artes Plásticas 🎨. Actualmente, ha encontrado cantando, paz y estabilidad gracias a la religión cristiana. Ella escogío a Daberat como su nombre artístico porque significa prado, libertad, paz y enfoque. A pedido de ella, nombré su retrato así. Fue un placer dibujarla y saber que tiene una hermosa voz y que la religión ha cambiado su vida.

Good morning, today I present my recent portrait titled:
"Daberath"

Daberat is the artistic name of my friend Dayana Reyes, a former party-loving student from my old Visual Arts workshop 🎨. She has now found peace and stability through singing, thanks to the Christian religion. She chose Daberath as her artistic name because it means meadow, freedom, peace, and focus. At her request, I named her portrait accordingly.

It was a pleasure to draw her and to learn that she has a beautiful voice and that religion has changed her life.

Para realizar su retrato utilicé:

• lápiz HB
• lápiz 2B con parte de atrás de bolígrafo como extensor
• bolígrafo convertido en portaminas de minas 5B
• hoja de papel de 21X28 cm
• hoja de papel para evitar dañar el dibujo y ensuciarme las manos
• goma moldeable

To create her portrait, I used:

· HB pencil
· 2B pencil with the back of a pen as an extender 😅
· pen converted into a mechanical pencil for 5B leads 😅
· 21x28 cm sheet of paper
· sheet of paper to protect the drawing and keep my hands clean
· kneaded eraser

Paso a paso/Step by step 🎨

Cuando dibujo retratos hago una cuadrícula que me permite plantear el rostro más semejante al modelo. Después comienzo a plantear y estructurar con trazos claros que progresivamente voy oscureciendo y sumando diferentes valores tonales para dar volumen y permitir apreciar las luces y sombras. Durante el proceso creativo voy haciendo correcciones en caso de que vea defectos y después comienzo a definir y resaltar zonas como ojos, boca y el complicado pelo. También durante el proceso creativo utilizo el pincel seco para difuminar zonas en la piel( aunque después, algunas de esas zonas las cubro con claroscuro) y crear el fondo.

When I draw portraits, I make a grid that allows me to outline the face to be more similar to the model. Then I begin to outline and structure with light strokes, which I progressively darken and add different tonal values to give volume and make it possible to appreciate the lights and shadows. During the creative process, I make corrections if I see any flaws, and then I begin to define and highlight areas like the eyes, mouth, and the tricky hair. Also during the creative process, I use the dry brush to blend areas of the skin (although later, I cover some of those areas with chiaroscuro) and to create the background
