Collages 📷 A New Life 👽
Hello, everyone! 😎
Here’s one of my experiments - I wasn’t sure exactly where to post it, but the AlienArt Hive community seems like a good fit. To explain: Anyone who follows me knows that I’ve been active for several years in the LMAC (Let’s Make Another Collage) community, where we create collages using public domain sources. [Kudos to @quantumg and @agmoore].
And now I’ve animated these collages using AI. I didn’t influence the AI at all - by that I mean, specifically, the text prompt, which allows you to define very precisely what you want it to generate. So, one part is my work - the collage and the first few frames, while the animation of the collage is the AI’s interpretation. Visually, it was generated by Grok Imagine.
To accompany the images, I generated music with Suno - here I used a text prompt, which was prepared for me by Grok; in fact, I believe that when it comes to giving instructions to another AI, AI is more precise than humans, but we can discuss that...
That said, I agree with William Gibson that we live in an age of recycling. He wrote this back in 2005 in his essay (in Wired magazine) "God's Little Toys: Confessions of a Cut-and-Paste Artist," stating:
The record, not the remix, is the anomaly today. The remix is the very nature of the digital. Today, an endless, recombinant, and always incomplete process of recombination is the dominant cultural logic. We live at a peculiar juncture, one in which the record (an object) and the recombinant (a process) still, however briefly, coexist.
And when I do recycle, I do so with my own objects. I can say that the process is very engaging and two-way: I’m learning procedures for directing AI, while it receives digital objects into its database, which it uses to train...
Just two and a half minutes of your time :)

Thank you very much for your support.
Well now that is a strange video... it's like what I think an acid trip might be. Although, I've never taken acid, so I'm just guessing. I'd love to have seen the stills that inspired this.
Actually quite memorable, even brilliant.
Don’t go looking for an acid trip; it can be worse than you think. It’s more like a nightmare for me :)
The first few frames in each sequence are the original collage, which is then interpreted in its own way, some worse, some better than I expected. But I didn’t want to influence the AI interpretation at all; I just let it run its course.
Greetings, my friend. First of all, your creativity is incredible, Oard, as you were able to put together each of those scenes in the video, making them fit together perfectly. I especially liked the one with the dragon and the soldiers; it's unique and very interesting. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Essentially, it’s an experiment—or rather, a reworking/recycling of my materials with AI. Only time will tell if this adds any new value.
All right, I hope a lot of people get to see this work.
Okay let me say, this is very unique my friend
Thanks. Maybe so, because I always try to use all the tools at my disposal.
Ooh that's fine!
This is a very good experiment. I like that you didn't try to fully control the AI and let it propose the movement based on your original images. The result feels fluid and fits the community style very well. Thanks for sharing the process behind the creation
Thanks. The next step is connect up to seven images into the story :)
Cool twist on LMAC
AI works well here
Hehe, yes, you're right! 😎
