Introduction

After not posting for a few months, I rise from the ashes like a phoenix to talk about one of my favorite Splinterlands cards. Since the release of the Chaos Legion collection, I've been a fan of the Goblin Psychic and I have a gold version of it (it certainly wasn't the best investment choice as it has dropped in price quite a bit since I bought it, but I don't mind one bit).

In this post, I'm going to explore why I like this dear green friend so much. In short, he is both a carry and a support, especially when paired with the Obsidian summoner. Cards that fulfill these two roles in Splinterlands are especially valuable, as they can be used in different situations and combined with many other teams.

I would also like to highlight the wonderful art of this card. Normally we don't expect a goblin to be this stylish, but the Psychic is really chic (sorry for the pun, I couldn't resist), with his earring matching his rings and the little golden hat.

The higher the level, the better

Goblin Psychic is already a great card since level 1, when it already has its maximum attack and one of the best abilities in the game: Tank Heal. But it gets even better as it levels up, as it acquires other great features.

I'm currently using this card at level 4, as that's when the Goblin gains an ability almost as good as healing: Affliction. The logic here is simple, if you (like me) think healing is powerful in the game, obviously so is the ability that prevents healing. In addition, the heal is even stronger in some specific situations, and having a card that has both Tank Heal and Affliction at the same time is extremely valuable, as it saves space in the team's formation.

As if these two wonderful abilities weren't enough, at level 7 the Goblin gains one more: Silence. At first glance, it may seem that this functionality is not related to the previous ones, but when we consider that one of the most efficient ways to couter a healing team is to place several magic attack monsters that will end the tank's life before it heal, it makes perfect sense to limit enemy magic firepower. I can't wait to level up my summoner so I can use the goblin at level 7, it's sure to be a lot of fun.

The last ability the Psychic gains is Dispel, at level 10. I don't have any diamond league experience to say, but I imagine this skill makes a lot more sense than in the lower leagues, as cards gain more functionality at higher levels. I wouldn't say Dispel is necessary to make this card good, but it sure is a cherry on top.

In addition to the support, it also carries

So far, I've explored the abilities that make Goblin Psychic a great support, but what makes this card really special is that it's also capable of winning matches with its magic damage.

The match I share here, against @merrickpogii24, was played in ranked Gold III. As a tank, I chose Pelacor Mercenary, one of my favorite cards, which I already wrote a post about (read here), accompanied by the Goblin Psychic, the star of the moment, and the Fungus Fiend and Mycelic Morphoid, which would serve as meat shields mainly against sneak and opportunity. The summoner chosen was Obsidian, which increases my Goblin's attack and makes it a god.

On the enemy team, I found a similar strategy. The Shieldbearer accompanied by Armorsmith and Venari Crystalsmith could be a problem, as all damage I dealt would be either blocked by the shield or healed, but my Goblin Psychic's Affliction ability made all the difference. While my Mercenary was recovering all health from the double heal, the Goblin's magic damage annihilated the enemy tank and secured the victory.

In this match, the summoner chosen by my opponent had a much lower level than mine, but even if he was higher, the result would be the same, since the combined attack of the Shieldbearer and Venari Crystalsmith would only be 6, the same amount of healing I had. Therefore, I highlight the advantage of having the Affliction skill, which is not so common and even a little underestimated.

Depois de ficar alguns meses sem postar, ressurjo das cinzas como uma fênix para falar sobre uma das minhas cartas favoritas do Splinterlands. Desde o lançamento da coleção Chaos Legion, eu sou fã do Goblin Psychic e tenho uma versão dourada dele (com certeza não foi a melhor escolha de investimento, já que ele caiu bastante de preço desde que eu comprei, mas não me importo nem um pouco).

Neste post, vou explorar os motivos de eu gostar tanto desse querido amigo verde. Em resumo, ele é ao mesmo tempo um carry e um suporte, especialmente quando combinado com a invocadora Obsidian. Cartas que cumprem esses dois papéis no Splinterlands são especialmente valiosas, pois podem ser utilizadas em diferentes situações e combinadas com diversos outros times.

Também gostaria de destacar a arte maravilhosa dessa carta. Normalmente nós não esperamos que um goblin seja tão estiloso, mas o Psychic é realmente chique (desculpe o trocadilho, não resisti), com seu brinco combinando com seus anéis e o chapéuzinho dourado.

Quanto maior o nível, melhor

O Goblin Psychic já é uma ótima carta desde o nível 1, quando já tem seu ataque máximo e uma das melhores habilidades do jogo: Tank Heal. Mas ele fica ainda melhor quando sobe de nível, já que ele adquire outras ótimas funcionalidades.

Atualmente, estou utilizando essa carta no nível 4, pois é quando o Goblin ganha uma habilidade quase tão boa quanto a cura: Affliction. A lógica aqui é simples, se você (como eu) acha que curar é poderoso no jogo, obviamente a habilidade que impede a cura também é. Além disso, o heal é ainda mais forte em algumas situações específicas, e ter uma carta que ao mesmo tempo tem Tank Heal e Affliction é extremamente valioso, já que economiza espaço na formação do time.

Como se já não fossem suficientes essas duas habilidades maravilhosas, no nível 7 o Goblin ganha mais uma: Silence. Em um primeiro momento, pode parecer que essa funcionalidade não tem relação com as anteriores, mas quando consideramos que uma das maneiras mais eficientes de couterar um time de cura é colocando vários monstros de ataque mágico que vão acabar com a vida do tank antes dele se curar, faz todo sentido limitar o poder de fogo mágico inimigo. Eu não vejo a hora de subir de nível minha invocadora para poder utilizar o goblin no nível 7, com certeza vai ser muito divertido.

A última habilidade que o Psychic ganha é o Dispel, no nível 10. Não tenho nenhuma experiência na liga diamante para dizer, mas imagino que essa habilidade faça muito mais sentido do que nas ligas mais baixas, já que as cartas ganham mais funcionalidades nos níveis mais altos. Não diria que o Dispel é necessário para tornar essa carta boa, mas com certeza é uma cereja no topo.

Além do suporte, também carrega

Até agora, explorei as habilidades que tornam o Goblin Psychic um ótimo suporte, mas o que torna essa carta realmente especial é que ela também é capaz de ganhar partidas com seu dano mágico.

A partida que compartilho aqui, contra o @merrickpogii24, foi disputada no ranked Ouro III. Na função de tanque, eu escolhi o Pelacor Mercenary, uma das minhas cartas preferidas, que eu já fiz um post sobre (leia aqui), acompanhada do Goblin Psychic, a estrela da vez, e o Fungus Fiend e Mycelic Morphoid, que serviriam de escudos de carne principalmente contra sneak e opportunity. A invocadora escolhida foi a Obsidian, que aumenta o ataque do meu Goblin e o torna um deus.

No time inimigo, encontrei uma estratégia semelhante. O Shieldbearer acompanhado do Armorsmith e do Venari Crystalsmith poderia ser um problema, já que todo o dano que eu desse seria bloqueado pelo escudo ou curado, mas a habilidade de Affliction do meu Goblin Psychic fez toda a diferença. Nessa partida, o invocador escolhido pelo meu oponente tinha um nível bem mais baixo do que a minha, mas mesmo que ele fosse mais alto, o resultado seria igual, já que o ataque somado do Shieldbearer e do Venari Crystalsmith seria apenas 6, a mesma quantidade de cura que eu tinha. Por isso, destaco a vantagem de ter a habilidade Affliction, que não é tão comum e até um pouco subestimada.
