(Eng-Esp) Mérida never ceases to amaze me: my return to Chorros de Milla after so many years

Reconnecting with Nature: A Sunday at Chorros de Milla Zoo 🌿🦅
A journey through the botanical lung of Mérida, Venezuela, where water and wildlife meet.
Hi everyone, I am very excited to finally join this platform. I’ve heard incredible things about this community and I want to start my journey by sharing something special. Since this is my first post, I decided to bring you along on a recent trip I took.
Sometimes, living right here in the mountains, we forget how close we are to spaces that look like they were taken from a postcard. This weekend I decided to break the routine and visit one of my favorite places since childhood: the Chorros de Milla Zoological Park. No matter how many times you go, the sound of the waterfall and the cold air coming down from the mountains always reset your system.
As soon as you enter, you are greeted by that thick and humid vegetation characteristic of our area. The first things I encountered were the llamas and alpacas. It made me laugh to see how they peek curiously through the wooden fences; they have a look that makes it seem like they are judging you, but at the same time, they are super calm. I managed to capture a couple of close-up photos and their fur looks incredibly dense, perfect for the Mérida cold.
Patience and Feathers
Following the path uphill (which by the way, boy is it tiring!), I reached the bird area. Seeing the Andean Condor always commands immense respect from me. It is imposing; even behind bars, its presence is majestic. I also got to see a gray eagle that stayed completely still, as if it knew I was taking a photo. Those details of nature make you think about how important it is to take care of these refuges.
A little further on, the atmosphere changes with the turtle pond. I stayed for a while watching them; they were all piled up on the rocks looking for the little bit of sun that managed to filter through the trees. There is something very relaxing about watching them simply be there, without any rush.
Identity in every corner
Something I love about this park are the wood carvings you find along the trails. They are figures that represent our culture and mythology, giving it that artisanal touch that identifies us so much in Mérida. From carved owls to more abstract figures, they blend perfectly with the landscape of stone and moss.
I ended the day in front of the main waterfall. Seeing people rappelling right next to the water made me want to try it next time. Without a doubt, it was a necessary day to disconnect from work and remember why Mérida remains the most beautiful city in Venezuela.
Which of these animals is your favorite when you go to the zoo? Let me know in the comments; I'll post some more photos there for you to enjoy

Your first post captures something really special—that mix of nostalgia and rediscovery you felt returning to Chorros de Milla since childhood. The way you described how the waterfall and mountain air "reset your system" made me feel like I was there with you, and your photography of those curious llamas and alpacas is a great touch.

Thank you.
The topic of AI-generated content is interesting, and I wanted to ask you about my specific situation, since I use AI to translate my content and generate cover images. Should I keep doing this, or is it better not to?
It’s just that I’ve noticed online translation tools have some flaws when translating from Spanish to English, which is why I use AI—I think it does a better job with translations.
Hello.
I would recommend reading the guide that I provided.
Translation tools are fine as long as it is basic translation, not enhanced AI translation that basically rewrites and paraphrases the content.
Basic free Google Translate or fee DeepL are fine.
It is better to clearly mark and mention AI-generated content in the post/title of the post, just as if you did it for sourcing someone else's content.
Thanks a lot.
