Mi domingo de prueba superada | My Successful Trial Sunday
Domingo, 22 de marzo. Me desperté con el alma llena de agradecimiento, lista para aventurarme a mi nuevo día.
En casa, los domingos vamos a misa, desayunamos y nos dispusimos a prepararnos para salir, pero pasó algo que me puso de muy mal humor.
Me di cuenta de que esto había pasado antes y por un momento pensé que era una especie de sabotaje.
Me dije, no importa lo que haya pasado, igual iremos a la iglesia.
Nos vestimos todos y salimos.
Sunday, March 22. I woke up with a heart full of gratitude, ready to embrace my new day.
At home, we go to Mass on Sundays, have breakfast, and get ready to head out, but something happened that put me in a really bad mood.
I realized this had happened before, and for a moment I thought it was some kind of sabotage.
I told myself, no matter what happened, we’re still going to church.
We all got dressed and left.
Al llegar a la iglesia tenía ganas de llorar, me sentía más que molesta, preocupada. Comencé a orar para que Dios me aliviara y me guiara.
De vez en cuando una lágrima se me escapaba, mientras que yo cuidaba de quitarla pronto de mi rostro para que nadie lo notara.
La homilía fue una revelación. Parecía que el sacerdote supiera lo que estaba pasando, cada palabra fue oportuna y sanadora.
Sé que Dios habló a través de Él. Entonces supe que fue la recompensa por haber ido a pesar de todo.

When I arrived at the church, I felt like crying; I was more than just upset—I was worried. I began to pray that God would comfort and guide me.
Every now and then a tear would slip down my cheek, and I would quickly wipe it away so no one would notice.
The homily was a revelation. It seemed as though the priest knew what was going on; every word was timely and healing.
I know that God spoke through him. Then I knew that this was the reward for having gone despite everything.
Our place at that moment was there, not at home.
I thanked God for always being with me.
Al salir de la iglesia mi energía ya había cambiado, me sentí aliviada y en paz.
Mi hijo tuvo la idea de ir por un café, todos aplaudimos su iniciativa y fuimos a nuestro abasto favorito, que tiene un restaurant donde venden unos muy ricos.

By the time I left the church, my mood had already shifted; I felt relieved and at peace.
My son suggested we go get some coffee, and we all applauded his idea and headed to our favorite grocery store, which has a restaurant that serves some really delicious coffee.
All the uneasiness I’d been feeling earlier had vanished, and I really enjoyed the moment.
Hay situaciones que escapan de nuestras manos, nos hacen sentir impotencia y nos inquietan de sobremanera.
No tenemos el control de todo, ni siquiera podemos saber si lo que depende de nosotros saldrá como esperamos; por eso, lo más sensato es no afanarnos, no angustiarnos, hacer lo mejor que podemos y soltar.
El tiempo nos irá develando los resultados.
Aceptar lo que no podemos cambiar, también es parte de la vida.
There are situations that are beyond our control, that make us feel helpless and deeply unsettled.
We can’t control everything, and we can’t even be sure that the things within our power will turn out as we hope; that’s why the wisest course is not to fret, not to worry, to do the best we can, and to let go.
Time will reveal the results.
Accepting what we cannot change is also part of life.
Luego de degustar nuestro café y con mucha alegría, hicimos algunas diligencias antes de regresar a casa, como comprar algunas cosas que necesitábamos y buscar la camioneta de mi esposo en el taller mecánico.
El resto de nuestro domingo fue cálido, amable y, en lo personal, lo sentí mágico y significativo.
Comprendí que hacer lo correcto, aún cuando todo se opone, tiene su recompensa.
After enjoying our coffee and feeling very happy, we ran a few errands before heading home, such as buying a few things we needed and picking up my husband’s truck from the repair shop.
The rest of our Sunday was warm and pleasant, and, personally, I found it magical and meaningful.
I realized that doing the right thing, even when everything seems to be against you, has its rewards.
